One day you wake up and notice your kids are growing up. How does that happen? Some days I wonder where the baby went. Being self employed has afforded my the opportunity to be home more with my son than I ever was with my 2 older girls and I see things with him that I never noticed before. Maybe it is just me getting older and being more aware, I am not sure.

My boy is 2 and a half and a very inquistive little guy. He is curious about everything. This morning for instance, he heard me teling the wife I needed to get the “weed wacker” out and trim around everything in the yard. He immediately comes over and asked me “Dad, how does the weed wacker work?”

How to you eplain the workings of a gas trimmer to a 2 year old? Well I told him the basics and he was happy for about 5 minutes then comes back and says “How about the lawn mower Dad? How does it work?” I was a little surprised by his ability to associate the two put he surely knew they go together.

I often wonder if he is smarter than average or if I am biased. He can do his abc’s and some of them in Spanish and Chinese too…… At 2 years old. I am in so much trouble with this one. I dare say he is gonna make dear ole’ Dad look a little dense if this keeps up!
